Common Sense Health

Australia is the fattest nation on earth - yes, even more than America! And yet, from the amount of information available about diets, exercise, supplements, meal replacements and gym memberships it seems inconceivable that people are confused about what to do.

And yet, my experience from meeting people from all across the country is exactly that: people are confused about ‘what to do’ for their health.

So, at the risk of being lampooned by some ‘nutrionalist’ (which I am not) I wanted to share with you my key tips on how to take care of your health. Now, please note, I am not a doctor, or sports expert, nor weight loss expert - and I do not have a meal replacement program, an energy bar, a gym membership or a magical piece of exercise equipment to sell you. I just want you to be healthy; easily and simply.

Try these 5 SIMLE THINGS and see what happens to your health!

1: DRINK MORE WATER - everyone knows this one, but how many of us are actually doing it! When you go to the bathroom for a tinkle, your tinkle should be clear (except first thing in the morning, or if you have taken vitamin supplements)

2: EAT LESS - not rocket science here, but really - what determines how much we eat? For most of us, the size of our plate! Make smart choices, use smaller plates, less servings, downsize the meal….and while you are doing that…try chewing more (it will make the meal last longer!)

3: MOVE YOUR BODY - take the stairs, walk the dog, get on your bike and off the couch. The thing we sit on is the biggest part of our body - get off it!

4: EAT REAL FOOD - this does not mean you need to learn to cook like Poh and Julie on MasterChef - but it does mean you need to know how to make a healthy sandwich for lunch, to throw together a salad, to whip up a stir-fry dish. Real food, like (hopefully) your mum used to make; or may be perhaps your grandma!

5: REST MORE - as strange as this might seem, the truth is that most of us do not sleep enough. And sleep is where so much magic happens - healing, repairing, nutrient absorption, growing and recovering. Plus, if we are not well rested often we reach for things during the day (coffee, sugar, alcohol, carbs) to help us get through the day - even though we know none of those things serve us!

There - that’s it. 5 SIMPLE THINGS to do to live longer and feel better while you are doing it. And it none of them cost you any money!

be well

Live Each Day as if it WAS your last….from Steve Jobs.

Hi All
I just had this great link sent to me from Tony Robbbins - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1R-jKKp3NA - it is from Steve Jobs talking about ‘joining the dots’ and ‘living each day like it was your last’! It is simply brilliant. At 14 mins it does seem long for a clip - but I promise there is magic in the second half that is powerful!

For those of you familiar with the “three regrets content” this will fit beautifully!
Enjoy!

Have a great weekend.

Making Money is all in the Mind

Hi All….

I am having the most amazing experience right now - I am in Sydney sitting back stage with Robert Kyosaki, his wife Kym, and the entire “Rich Dad Advisors” team. There is a three day event going on with Robert’s entire team sharing all manner of great information on wealth, education and even health - it’s simply amazing. AND….if that’s not enough, I have been privilleged enough to be given the change to connect with Robert and his team, whilst I am hosting the event for him. It’s been sooooooooo much fun - and such a profound learning experience.

The highlight for me without doubt has been the following quote, straight from RK - “money is made in the mind”. Trust me, when I heard that I wrote that down big, circled it, underlined it - then highlighted it as well. “You mean” I said to myself, “it’s not about having the best strategy, or the most current information, or some secret tool - but about a decision made in my mind to be wealth?” - and my truth answered back … “YES, that’s all that it is!!”

Looking forward to connecting soon..

kindly

Embracing Change Consciously

Change happens to us all…as we age, our bodies change; in this current economic climate our finances change; and as our lives unfold our relationships change. Often peoples’ response to these chages can be problematic: denial, hiding, trying to cheat the change (think about the surge in surgical enhancements) and ignoring it! Sadly, none of these strategies work very well.

Embracing change is about accepting that change in life is inevitable, BUT that we can direct and influence how those changes show up in our lives. We have so much control over how our bodies age - by doing all the things you probably allready know to be doing (eating well, exercise a little, indulge hardly ever etc…). We can totally affect our financial situation by creating budgets, spending consciously, creating new business’, adding more value, educating our selves on what to do with our money (other than buying a 52″ plasma TV!) And of course in our relationships, the most important area of our lives, every day we have the chance to impact those that we love - through our words and action. Kindness, a smile, loving words, a helpful hand, a hug, a genuine compliment are all the simle things that cost no money and have no calories - and always make the giver and the receiver feel great. And there is no limit on supply and an excess on demand right now.

So as change happens in your life (and it will!) - get excited - it means you are still here! Decide how you want your life to move forward; get a plan; take lots of action - and most importantly, get some one with some skill and experience, to help you along the way.

Have a great day everyon

Kindly

Scott

What if you could see what you couldn’t see? What are your blind spots?

So often in life we are only aware of the stuff that we choose to see and accept that we know.

What would happen if you took a step back or asked someone close to you something like:

Are there behaviours I have, that in the past, I may not have been aware of that don’t serve me or the people around me?

Do I have any habits that prevent me from getting what I truly desire, or that could negatively impact my relationships?

Once you are aware - you can do something about it. Because ignorance my friends, is not bliss …

So what are some of your blind spots?

Make your life extraordinary!

Live Seminar Footage is Coming!

I had hoped to have the live footage ready for you by now.

Now, I am not a techy person (certainly not as much as I would like to be) and I didn’t realise how long it would take to get the video “web ready”.

The great news is … it is on the way!

Thankfully (for you and me both) I have someone working on it as I type.

Hopefully the seminar footage will be ready in the next couple of days - and as soon as it is, it will be on the blog for your viewing pleasure.

Stay tuned - And if you put your name and email address in the place there on the right, I will let you know as soon as it comes on line.

Scott
